This can only be performed by an Admin User.

If your database has multiple sites (different physical locations), the same instruments at the different sites can share lot number information.

Note: This decision should be decided at a high and collective administrative level. It is a system setting. This means Lot numbers will or will not be shared across all sites of the database.

Use the following information to determine which setting is best for your database.

Sharing of lot numbers across sites is allowed if the following criteria is met.

  • The instruments at each site must have the exact same tasks and frequencies.

  • The instruments must be built within the same instrument type of the database.

  • The instruments at each site must perform the same reagents and/or controls.

Things to consider for selecting the setting.

  • Do your sites receive the same lot numbers of reagents/controls?

    • If yes, you may like to turn the setting on.

    • If no, you the setting would not be beneficial for you so it should be turned off.

  • Would it be beneficial to review and select an existing lot number another site has already entered into the system?

    • If yes, you may like to turn the setting on.

    • If no, you the setting would not be beneficial for you so it should be turned off.

  • Do your sites use the Lot Statuses feature of the system?

    • If yes, will all sites use the same "Opened", "In Use" dates?

      • If yes, you may like to turn the setting on.

      • If no, you the setting would not be beneficial for you so it should be turned off.

    • If no, you may like to turn the setting on.
