How to Clone and Retire an Instrument

When you are replacing an instrument that is no longer in service follow these steps to replace in LabLogs as long as all tasks are the same.

1. Select "Administration" from the Menu.

2. Select the "Instruments" tab.

3. Select the Instrument Type needed for the change.

4. Select "Clone" beside the Instrument name that will be replaced.

5. Key in the Instrument Label and Serial Number of the new instrument.

6. Select "Save".

7. Select "Edit" beside the instrument name that needs to be retired.

8. Click on the drop down for Status and select "Retired - No Testing Allowed".

9. Select "Save Instrument".

Note: Once an instrument is retired, users no longer see it and it can only be accessed from the Admin page. Admins will have access to all historical data for the retired instrument.
